Somewhere to talk where no one's grading you, judging you, or telling you to calm down.
At Wildflower Therapy & Wellness, teens find a space where they can be heard without judgment. Between school, friends, and growing responsibilities, life can feel confusing and overwhelming. It's a lot to handle. Our therapists help teens navigate emotions, build confidence, and develop tools to handle what life brings next.
Wildflower Therapy & Wellness provides therapy for teens ages 12–18 in person at our downtown Plymouth, Michigan office and online throughout Michigan, serving families from Plymouth, Canton, Northville, Livonia, Westland, and nearby communities.
Being a Teen Today Is Hard
Teens today are juggling academic pressure, social media, friendships that shift overnight, and big questions about who they are and where they're headed. It's normal to struggle sometimes. But when stress, sadness, or worry start getting in the way of school, sleep, or relationships, talking with someone outside the situation can help.
What Teen Therapy Can Help With
Our therapists work with teens facing:
-
Anxiety and stress, including school pressure, panic, and constant worry
-
Depression and low mood, like pulling away from friends or losing interest in things they used to enjoy
-
Self-esteem and identity, and figuring out who they are and where they fit
-
Friendship and social challenges, including conflict, bullying, and social media stress
-
ADHD and OCD that affect focus, schoolwork, and daily life
-
Family changes and conflict, such as divorce, a move, or tension at home
-
Trauma or difficult experiences that still weigh on them
Our Approach
Teens can tell right away when an adult is lecturing them. That's not what therapy at Wildflower looks like.
Our therapists use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps teens recognize the thought patterns behind anxiety, low mood, and stress, and gives them practical tools to manage them. We pair this with a person-centered approach, meaning your teen is treated as the expert on their own life. Sessions are honest, respectful, and focused on what matters to them.
Through therapy, teens can:
-
Understand and manage their emotions instead of feeling ruled by them
-
Build confidence and a healthier relationship with themselves
-
Handle stress from school, friendships, and expectations
-
Communicate better with parents, friends, and others
-
Develop coping skills they'll carry into adulthood
What to Expect
Getting started. The first appointment usually includes both the teen and a parent or guardian, so we can understand everyone's concerns and goals. After that, most sessions are one-on-one with your teen.
Building trust. Teens open up when they feel safe. Your teen's therapist will take time to get to know them as a person, not just the problem that brought them in.
Keeping parents in the loop. We share general progress and ways you can support your teen at home, while respecting the privacy your teen needs to be honest in sessions.
In-Person and Online Teen Therapy
Teens can meet with a therapist at our Plymouth office or through secure online sessions from anywhere in Michigan. Many teens find online therapy comfortable and easy to fit around school, sports, and activities.
